Cherie’s latest success in the entertainment community has been in stand-up comedy. Her creative way of story-telling with humor has helped her stand out in comedy clubs in New York and Atlanta. She won a residency at The Broadway Comedy Club in NYC in late 2019.

Earlier last year she was selected as a semi-finalist for the 2020 American Black Film Festival’s Comedy Wings contest. Comedy Wings is sponsored by HBO. The American Black Film Festival (ABFF) Comedy Wings Competition is a national competition to identify outstanding comedic talent and expose undiscovered comics aspiring to careers in film and television to the industry at large. The competition winner will attain access to new industry contacts and an additional live performance opportunity.
ABFF has a long history of showcasing comedians early in their careers. Notable comics who have performed at ABFF include Kevin Hart, Cedric the Entertainer, J.B. Smoove, Craig Robinson, Earthquake, Bill Bellamy, Ricky Smiley, Sheryl Underwood, Tommy Davidson, and Chris Spencer. The competition will resume in 2021 at the ABFF Comedy Festival.
